The new issue of Sh’ma Magazine includes an article by Pam Edelman on “Co-Creation: The New Imperative” The article discusses the spreading phenomenon of parents who are taking an active role as “prosumers” in creating Jewish learning opportunities for their children and families. (Pam is herself one such parent, as a founder of Yerusha, a “Jewish learning laboratory” in Princeton, NJ, testing a new model of family-driven complementary education.) Pam is spearheading the Lippman Kanfer Institute’s initiative to empower the family voice in Jewish education and is exploring new approaches, such as private online communities, that are being used in the corporate world to involve customers directly in the process of developing new products.
