My name is Gloria Becker and I work as the Educational Technology Specialist at the Auerbach Central Agency for Jewish Education/Jewish Outreach Partnership. My responsibilities include creating and implementing seminars for teachers and education directors about integrating technology into their classrooms and schools, working with synagogues to plan and implement their technology plans with regard to web 2.0 tools, training in-house staff in the use of web 2.0 tools, organizing our annual teachers' conference in November around the theme of technology in the Jewish classroom, creating and teaching webinars, podcasts, and online learning opportunities, and researching Jewish education and technology. I recently earned my EdD in Instructional Leadership K-12 and hold an MAJEd. I am a member of NATE and received my RJE designation. I've been working in Jewish Education for over 30 years as a teacher, education director, and consultant.

I look forward to learning with this community of practice. You can reach me directly at either 215 320 0368 or gbecker@acaje-jop.org.

Hi Gloria,

It's so good to have you as a member of our CoP. Here are a few web tools that you might want to explore and share with your colleagues, if you are not familiar with them: http://www.socrative.com/http://www.socrative.com/ and http://www.pimpampum.net/bookr/

As per Dr. Solomon suggestion, here is an example of a JIEE knowledge product.

All the acting you see was improvised since students only had 10 min. to come up with a creative work around a prop, in this case a Matzah box. Some students decided on making short TV commercials while other decided to make digital posters with slogans. Enjoy and Shabath Shalom.

Noemi, What a great example of empowering students to participate in an experiential activity and create a Jewish knowledge product or artifact. You, your students and their parents should be so pleased. Richard

Chevre, I would like to invite all the members of our CoP to share examples of JIEE knowledge products that your students have created. These Judaic knowledge products or artifacts can be movie files, audio files, picture albums, multi-media presentations, power points, etc. RDS
