Hi Richard,

It was interesting to see the emphasis that you put on the WEB for Jewish Education. Perhaps you should also consider television as the most prevalent media available to reach "isolated" Jewish communities.

Take a look at Shalom TV (for whom I work), the non profit free Jewish Network that reaches Jews all over the United States and Canada on most cable systems. A great number of the programs are education based....teaching Hebrew, "Dimensions of the Daf", Judaism 101 as well as education in its broadest sense on the complex issues facing the Diaspora and Israel today. Shalom TV is able to be seen in 1.625 million Jewish homes - a great potential for learning about Jewish life. Important for education purposes, Shalom TV is video on demand so the learning can be done at the convenience of the viewer's time and motivation.

However, recognizing that the web is important, we also have put many programs on our website, www.shalomtv.com.
Hi Edith,

I love Shalom TV and receive it here in Tucson.

How can we link my blog and my website to Shalom TV website?

Perhaps we can have a phone or Skype conversation? Kindly contact me at this email address: rdsolomonphd@gmail.com so that we can set up a time to talk.

Thank you so much.

I attempted to watch the powerpoint presentation, but the link was not working.

I work for Jerusalem Online University (http://www.jerusalemonlineuniversity.com/). Until recently, our main focus was online education for college students, but we're branching out and recently developed a film-based curriculum on Israel for high school students.

The goals is to help Hebrew and Day Schools to teach Middle and High School students about Israeli history and modern values and accomplishments in an entertaining and engaging way. I cant attach a sample class here, but I'd be happy to show you how the model works.
