#JEDchat on "Flipping" Classrooms (Khan Academy concept)

As mentioned in the Jewish Futures Conference the JFNA General Assembly, a recent #JEDchat on Twitter focused on flipping classrooms, inspired (in part) by the work of the Khan Academy (http://www.khanacademy.org)   Have you tried flipping your classroom?  What do you think of the idea?  What might be the impacts for Jewish learning, connecting the classroom with the home?

I'm loving the #jedchat meet ups on twitter! It's great to hang out with colleagues, new and old. (New to #jedchat? I posted some background here)

I've been thinking about how, in addition to the classroom, the flipped classroom idea can be used for professional development. I've recently taken two online workshops for educators that takes advantage of the flipped model, giving us opportunities to dig more deeply in a collaborative way in real time when we meet online.

Another fascinating article- why Khan is like Andrew Carnegie -- in Time : http://ti.me/sw6Ro2

This teacher did a ton of research on flipped classrooms, and she links to a bunch of resources and articles: http://www.coetail.asia/marypkfish/2011/12/15/flipping-out/
